THE BITTER TEARS OF PETRA VON KANT
Presented by Midtwenties Theatre at the VANCOUVER FRINGE FESTIVAL 2018
Set in contemporary times, THE BITTER TEARS OF PETRA VON KANT is an intimately melodramatic story about a young successful fashion designer named becoming obsessed with a cold-ingenue that aspires to be a model. Featuring an all-female cast and exploring themes of intergenerational love, sexuality, sadomaschocism, and the stage version of one of the first and best-loved films of New German Cinema auteur Rainier Werner Fassbinder - Midtwenties Theatre Society is very proud to be presenting this incredibly beautiful-female-melodrama as part of the Dramatic Works Series for the 2018 Vancouver Fringe Festival.
Featuring a cast mixed with newcomers and veterans of Midtwenties Theatre Society: The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant features performances by Nadya Debogorski (Above The Hospital, A Game of You), Shelby Satterthwaite (Molly Misbegotten, Seven Minutes In Heaven), Kate Boutilier (Small and Almost Honest, Fawlty Towers), Chelsea Macdonald (Nordost, The School for Scandal), Madison Isolina (Peter and The Starcatcher), and Joanna Rannelli (Hipstory, Lovestruck).
